BTC is committed to providing a safe, positive learning environment for its students. BTC understands that bullying creates an atmosphere of fear and intimidation which is distracting from the organization's mission and may lead to more serious issues of violence. Anyone who witnesses or experiences any act of bullying by a BTC student should report it to their teacher or any staff member immediately. BTC holds a zero tolerance policy for bullying.
Same policy applies for SBTC's Summer 2024 term.
The undersigned gives permission to Ballet Theatre Company, its board of directors, contractors, and operators to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian. I hereby declare any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or condition and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health.
SBTC has the right to alter or cancel any classes offered for situations that may occur including, but not limited to: insufficient enrollment, faculty availability, inclement weather, etc.
If SBTC cancels a class due to inclement weather, dancers and families will be notified through email, Facebook, and BTC’s website. If the schedule allows, SBTC will shift classes to its remote platform. If classes switch to a remote platform due to inclement weather, families will be notified via email.
Students are placed in class levels for the duration of the academic year according to their age and ability at the discretion of SBTC’s Artistic Director and faculty. Unlike traditional schooling, students move through the levels of a dance training program at their own pace, and it is not uncommon to repeat a level for one or more academic years. Our goal is to provide each student with a solid dance foundation that allows for individual success and accomplishment, and all student placements are carefully considered by SBTC’s Artistic Director and faculty to help reach this goal. Dancers enrolled in training at SBTC should follow the schedule requirements to best support success in their designated training division and class level.
Regular attendance is required and very important for all dancers to progress successfully. If a dancer misses a class, it is their responsibility to make up for the missed class. SBTC's School Administrator must be contacted prior to a dancer attending a makeup class. Classes that a dancer misses may be made up in a level below their placed level. It is not SBTC's responsibility to make arrangements for students to make up missed classes. If a student misses four or more classes in a term without making up those classes, it is at the Artistic Director's sole discretion to move a student to a lower level until makeups are completed.
